That looks GREAT :D

I can sympathise with that, i did a 24 hour game and my feet went all numb in the night...but hey, i was in my british ww2 commando uniform, so it gave me the strength to get through the night :) mind you, it wasn't snowing.

Hang on! (x) of you, (y) of me, dont mind playing Airsoft, I make that Pimms O’clock

My 20ps worth having organised WW2 events from the start .....

Play Blackhawk Down if you want "real" (WTF that means never quite sure? ) 24 hour games . If you want to go and experience "Army", go for a 24 hour event with the ex Paras at IED . They'll happily keep you awake all night, beast you and generally make you relive your youth . Been there done that , can be fun .

WW2 airsofters are generally 30 plus, don't have temper tantrums, don't own handbags, don't want to pretend they were in / are fit enough to be in the Royal Corps of Catering . They are unpretentious and very sociable and like each others company . Winning or loosing is generally secondary to have a good time , whether this is swapping stories about kit , battles, beers or dodgy birds. That's what make its such a change from a lot of other airsofting .

By all means try and run a "real" 24 hour event ...just don't be surprised when >20 book in . On the other hand give the people what they want and run an appealing event . Oh yeah and make sure it's not just a SISK *

Certainly wont be a "SISK", I got barraked for running one of those at Worthing before I'd even heard of this forum! ( Force ten from Navarone, last year)
Will keep it "filmsim" so that our locals can take part if they want, but will adhere to the CiA rules wherever I can, because I had such fun playing them at Haggard.
Thanks very much for all the advice guys :good:

If we get the numbers, me and Zero Bravo thought whoever wants to play the night portion of the games can, and those who dont want to can vacate the area, and drink in a designated drinking, camping, fooling around area :ghey:

Those who stay in the fox holes over night will be defending the lines :)

Just a thought

Guy makes a good point about the average CiA player age. At 19 I'd have been up for foxhole living big-time. 19 years later and I'd rather drink booze and talk rubbish round a nice warm fire.

Don't even know what SISK is but I'm sure I wouldn't like it.

I can understand what your saying. I've never seen the services, but I understand that after years of actually doing it as a job you wouldn't be to keen on doing it for recreation.

Thats kl :)

But I think for the benifit of those who want to play on throught the night/morning, we could have them continuing the fight, and we could say in the game "plan" that the teams have suffered major casulties!

Ok, a little sad, but you get the picture.

Simply - if you want to play the game, you play. If you dont, you go and get pissed up somwhere out of range :D

Dont forget people, the game plan is not finalised in the slightest. Although I have written out a reasonable game plane, it has only had the input of no more than 2 people, so any surgestions would be greatly apreciated and a great help :D

Firstly, fair play to you guys for trying to get a WW2 game on down this neck of the woods. That said, I don't fancy an allnight game either. I did some of that many years ago on night exercises in the Brecon Beacons. Cold and dry was bearable, although a lot of people fell asleep. Cold and wet was the pits. So I'd go for the 9pm finish, fire and beer, before staggering off sometime later and collapsing into a tent and ECW doss bag.

Pimms, what's the general scenario of your plan? I know it's in the Ardennes, but you asked for any suggestions so it might be helpful to know a bit more. As a new boy I don't know if my comments are worth anything, but my experience of night stuff in woods is it's pitch black and you can't see your hand in front of your face. You don't know what the hell going on.Do you use flares or set trip flares to suss when the enemy closing in? That always livens things up but I guess at the end of the day, if you plan a good game people are gonna come.

Anyway it sounds like a good laugh and I hope it works out. I don't live that far from the site so I hope it pans out.

Can you give us some details of your game. Where it is and what it's all about!

All the details are here: http://www.fireballsquadron.com/?page_id=397

The site is just behind the National Paintball Fields at Bassetts Pole.

coz by the sound of that your gonna have m4s and aks with a huge amount of firepower outgunning any ww2 stuff.

Except for those of us with MG42's!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

just read about the m4`s and jeans,

it put me right off to be honnest.

ak`s as stg44 at a push, m4 looks fook all like anything ww2, scrimed or not

also the jeans thing, it may just be like an open day with a ww2 theme.

hope it turns out to be different, but as i can only attend a limited number of events each year, i dgo for more in depth games rather than more relaxed ones

hope it works out ok though
